Women

Men and women report different reactions to stress, both physically and mentally. They attempt to manage stress in very different ways and also perceive their ability to do so, in markedly different ways. My area of focus is on affluent individuals. Wealthy individuals, especially women, have significant amounts of stress. They may not have to worry about where their next meal comes from, but they can experience significant stress in other areas of their lives. It is true, money does not buy happiness.

Women are more likely to report physical symptoms associated with Stress. Although they do a better job connecting with others in their lives, and, at times, these connections are important to their stress management strategies.

Recent research shows that women are more likely than men to report that their stress levels are on the rise. They are also much more likely than men to report physical and emotional symptoms of stress, such as having a headache, having felt as if they could cry, fatigue, or having an upset stomach or indigestion. When comparing women with each other, there also appears to be differences in the ways that married and single women experience stress. Married women repot higher levels of stress than single women. Additionally, married women report that their stress has increased over the past five year.

Many feel deeply anxious, and guilty, about their socioeconomic status. If they have given up their careers to be a stay at mom, stress about wasting their degrees and sometimes feel so “less than”. They may also feel unappreciated and stressed that all their work, although seeming glamorous to many, such as overseeing home renovations, design, managing multiple homes, can be extremely stressful but hard to discuss being in such a socio economic position.

I can help you recognize your stressors and deal with them to help you perform better, be confident, happy, successful, and peaceful.
